In the wake of the numerous controversies that are rocking several marriages in today’s Nigeria, celebrity dancer, Kafayat Shafau-Ameh, popularly known as Kaffy, has given her take on the institution.
The popular choreographer cum dance instructor, in a post on her Instagram page, stated that getting married does not imply an upgrade in people’s status.
According to her, the media, movies, culture, and religion are factors that have played major destructive roles in the ruin experienced in several unions today.
Kaffy, who is popular for her energetic dance moves as well as appearance in top musical videos, wrote on the template she posted:
“NO HUMAN BEING IS MORE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR HAPPINESS THAN YOU!
“We need to Audit our relationships and not all CHEMISTRY are meant for the registry.”

Further expressing her thought, she stated in the caption:
“MARRIAGE IS NOT AN UPGRADE! Having a Ph.D. is an amazing honorable feat that is admirable by all but it requires WORK. How much more MARRIAGE, an institution created to atomically implement kingdom agenda.
“Do we really think it’s a child’s play? We have been gravely conditioned wrong about what it is about. media, movies, culture, and religion, etc played a major role in the damage we are experiencing.
“It can be fixed if we fix our mindset towards it generally! God help us all!”
Kaffy’s words are coming at a time when many marriages are getting torn apart, with infidelity being the central cause.
Recall that actress, Annie Macaulay-Idibia, called out her husband, Innocent Idibia, aka 2Face, over claims that the singer is having an affair with his baby mama, Pero Adeniyi.
