Squid Game, a South Korean survival drama television series, has become one of the most-talked-about TV series across the world since its release.

The series, which was directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk and streaming on Netflix, has dragged Nigerians into the conversation, including celeb; one of them being Grammy Award-winning singer, Burna Boy.

Burna Boy, born Damini Ogulu, took to Instagram to air his opinion about the series, which is currently enjoying wide viewership.

According to Burna, the plot of the series projects the reality of humans; how people are prepared to outwit their counterparts in the game of survival.

Humans, the ‘Kilometre’ crooner said, do not sincerely love each other and it is a reality that breaks his heart.

He said:

Squid Games is actually a reality of how no one truly loves anyone when it comes down to survival. A reality that breaks my heart.”

The South Korean drama follows people competing for money in violent games and has captured the imagination of viewers of all age groups. This has translated into record-breaking viewership numbers, setting Squid Game on the path to being one of Netflix’s biggest shows.

In the meantime, there are ongoing plans to have a real-life version of Squid Game, without bloodshed.

It is billed to hold in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) this October.
