The Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eyes Season 6 has taken a new twist after fans of one of the last standing housemates, Pere, registered their displeasure over what they described as an attempt to rob their fave of the grand prize of the reality TV show.

The fans’ discontent followed the latest game twist introduced by Big Brother as Pere, alongside Angel, was taken to the secret white room where Biggie announced that they would play a game to decide who makes it to the finale. This came after host, Ebuka, had announced the fake eviction of both housemates.

The social media, however, went abuzz after the new twist was not accepted by fans of the show especially those supporting Pere for the ultimate prize.

Pere was adjudged as the housemate to move to the final after polling 25.31% of votes, against Angel’s 14.63%. But Biggies introduction of the ‘trucks and screwdrivers’ to determine the finalist, according to a section of the viewers, was aimed at eliminating Pere, despite polling the highest percentage of votes.

The events afterward, witnessed the criticism of the show, with many saying that Big Brother goofed on this one. They further questioned the rationale behind their votes if it would not count in the end.

Elsewhere, outside the Big Brother house, on the streets of Lagos, a group of persons, identified as fans of Pere, took matters into their hands as they stormed the office of Multichoice Nigeria on Monday; with placards reading ‘#Justice for Pere’ amongst other messages.

Multichoice are the organisers of the Big Brother Naija reality show.

This development has seen viewers questioning the transparency of the organisers and if their votes are actually respected, just as reports emerged that Angel’s dad alleged threats towards his daughter due to the twist.

Whatever happens in the days ahead remains between Big Brother, Pere and the protesting fans.
