Rapper, Drake, has broken his silence on the disastrous events of the Astroworld Music Festival which occurred last Friday.

The concert, which was held in Houston, Texas, led to the death of eight persons while about 300 others sustained injuries due to the crowd surge witnessed at the event.

Sylvester Turner, the Mayor of Houston said, during a news conference on Saturday evening, that the deceased were between the ages of 14 and 27, CNN reports.

Drake who performed alongside fellow artiste and organiser of the Festival, Travis Scott, released a statement via his Instagram page on Tuesday.

He added:

“I will continue to pray for all of them and will be of service in any way I can. My God be with you all.”

Scott had earlier released a statement on Saturday where he expressed his thoughts and also promised to assist authorities in their investigation.

In the meantime, Scott, in a statement, promised to make financial commitments towards the funeral of the deceased and also partner with a medical facility to offer mental health services to those who have been affected by the tragedy.
